seasoned reflections
As we embrace this bundling up season, I've been reflecting, as a Chicagoan, that weather can't truly hinder my life. If it did, I'd never accomplish anything. We've endured massive thunderstorms, floods, snowpocalypses, deep freezes, scorching summers, and everything in between. Chicago's weather shifts between three seasons in a day. So, when photoshoots loom, I inevitably face questions about the weather. "It looks like rain. Should we reschedule?" I live on an hourly basis in Chicago. If it's Thursday, and our shoot is on Saturday, deciding our fate earlier than before a few hours on Saturday morning seems futile. I've seen skies clear after canceled shoots, so I never hold my breath!
Here's ten years of seasoned experience (pun intended) and learning lessons. I'm never discouraged by weather. I'll only cancel if thunderstorms and lightning are present. Let's come together, play, work with, and appreciate what Mother Nature gives us!
